Conditions of Employment:
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
- Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic license, Truck Transport Mechanic Certification, or Automotive Service Technician Certification
- Valid Class 5 driver's licence with the ability to upgrade to a Class 3 with air endorsement
- Physically able to perform all duties of the job
Qualifications:
Essential:
- Several years of supervisory or administration experience, including evaluating work of subordinates, providing formal and informal feedback, coaching and mentoring.
- Extensive experience as a heavy duty and or truck/trailer mechanic, in the areas of diagnostic, repair and maintenance of highway construction and maintenance equipment, including hydraulic and air brake systems, power trains, electrical and hydraulic systems
- Experience using a computerized equipment management system to manage preventive maintenance program and vehicle safety certification program.
- Ability to work independently
- Experience with software programs such Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and Mitchell Labour Estimating
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work cooperatively and constructively as part of a team
- Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate professionally
- Strong written communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to balance conflicting priorities and tight deadlines

Duties:
Establishes work priorities, schedules and assign work to ensure continuity of work flow.
Directs and schedules operators in a prioritized manner to mobilize equipment and materials across the province of Manitoba in support of client's programs.
Assist employees on how to complete tasks and ensure quality and quantity standards are met.Provides technical assistance to Senior Tradesmen and shop staff regarding methods and details of repair, operating, servicing, and repair techniques.
Ensuring Work Orders are properly prepared for all shop activities and that they are properly logged and filed, ensuring data is correctly compiled and entered.
Ensures proper implementation of preventative maintenance programs by monitoring equipment operations and having inspections performed at appropriate intervals. Ensures safe & healthy work practises are followed by all personnel and discusses employee's work performance with them.- Advertisement # 4278
