The second university physics course primarily for students not intending to pursue a Specialist or Major program in Physical or Mathematical Sciences

Topics include:
electricity, magnetism, light, optics, special relativity.

Lectures:
Monday 2:00pm-4:00pm; Wednesday 2:00pm-4:00pm; Friday 2:00pm-4:00pm

Practicals:
Monday and Wednesday 4:00pm-6:00pm and 6:00pm-8:00pm

Minimum Qualifications:

PhD in Physics required
Previous experience in teaching introductory physics at the University level required

Preferred Qualifications:

Preference will be given to individuals with prior experience and demonstrated ability in teaching a similar course

Description of duties:

Coordination of an undergraduate course
Preparation and delivery of lectures in this course
Supervision and training of teaching assistant(s) assigned to course, including overseeing the TAs DDAH forms
Preparation, supervision and grading of tests and examinations in accordance with University regulations; submission of final grades
Providing scheduled office hours for academic counseling of students
Responsible for working with the teaching team (including the Practicals Coordinator and teaching assistants assigned to course) throughout the semester to make sure the course is delivered smoothly
