The Research Assistant will be part of the Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Clinical Trials research team working under the direction of the Principal Investigator, Dr.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to; assisting with the conduct of clinical research studies and clinical trials, screening and recruitment of study participants, obtaining informed consent, perform study-related procedures maintaining study logs, data abstraction and CRF completions, data collection from study participants and transporting of study participant samples.
Rate of Pay:
To commensurate with experience
Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week
Duration:
One year, with potential for renewal
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Health sciences or related field of study
- SOCRA or ACRP certified an asset
- Certification in GCP, TCPS2, and Health Canada Division 5 Training, IATA-TDG, Lawson Clinical Research SOPs
- Oneyear of recent related experience; preferably in a clinical research environment
- Experience with screening patients for randomized blinded drug trials
- Experience with ethics submissions, working with UWO REB (WREM) and CRIC (ReDa, LORA)
- Experience with Cerner PowerChart an asset
- Experience with REDCap and other electronic data capture formats
- Experience processing and shipping biological samples (exempt /dry ice)
- Ability to interact with patients with a neurological disorder (MS) and perform all study related procedures for various protocols
- Ability to prioritize workload with attention to detail
- Proven flexibility with a high level of initiative and selfdirection
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Committed to ongoing learning
- Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to the principles of patient and family centred care
- Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
- Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
Immunization Requirements:
- Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, Tetanus/ Diphtheria/Polio; Meningitis.
- Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing (two step) and COVID vaccine series.
