The Valhalla Hotel & Conference Centre is currently looking to hire a Banquet Supervisor to join our team The Banquets Supervisor is focused on providing creating outstanding guest experiences and exceptional guest service at all functions in the Banquet Department.

As a member of the Banquet Team, the Banquet Supervisor is responsible for leading the team in the execution of all banquet functions while maintaining the highest standards of quality and service function from set-up to breakdown.

This position requires an energetic, self-motivated, detail-oriented leader with a passion for providing guests with outstanding experiences.

This hands-on leadership role inspires team members and leads by example with the goal of developing a highly motivated, committed team.

The Banquets Supervisor is a role model and leader consistently exhibiting Silver Hotel Groups values with guests and associates providing hands-on leadership contributing to the efficient operation of the Banquet Department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the daytoday operations of the Banquet team
  • Reviews daily Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and ensures function rooms are set and ready according to requirements
  • Assist in creating a culture of performance and high engagement through the implementation of recognition, training, and professional growth and coaching programs;
  • Provide direction and oversight to all Banquets functions and processes to ensure they are executed in a manner that exceeds guest expectations
  • Support the Department Manager in achieving the goals and objectives for the department, and ensure effective communication of these goals and objectives to your team members
  • Demonstrate the importance of having a professional guest service attitude to all team members, and assist the Department Mangers in providing the necessary training, tools, and techniques that to develop these skills
  • Encourage team members to operate in the most professional and courteous manner, and continually build morale within the Banquet Department.
  • Knowledgeable of the legal responsibilities for serving alcohol
  • Provide feedback to team members regarding complaints and customer feedback and assist in identifying trends, escalating to the Department Manager where required
  • Act as a coach and mentor to all team members, consistently leading by example and exemplifying the company's values;
  • Assist in conducting daily and monthly team meetings to help maintain an open line of communication and focus on leading the team toward the achievement of the department's annual goals;
  • Assist with preparing the weekly work schedule and approve time cards for biweekly payroll;
  • Ensure an adequate workforce is maintained at all times;
  • Assist with monthly linen and equipment inventory and ordering supplies and equipment when required;
  • Recruit, hire, train, mentor, and supervise Banquet team members with a focus on growth and development;
  • Perform other duties as required.

What We are Looking For...

  • Experience in Hospitality Banquets or Food & Beverage is a strong asset;
  • Prior supervisory experience in a hospitality environment is preferred;
  • Strong computer skills, with knowledge of Microsoft Office and Hotel Property Management Systems;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Thrives in a fastpaced environmentmaintaining composure and objectivity with guests and team members;
  • Passionate about delivering experiences that exceed guest expectations;
  • Proven time management skills and ability to work under pressure;
  • Thrives in a fastpaced environment;
  • Available to work days, evenings, weekends, and/or holidays as required;
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.

Salary Range
$19 / hour

plus service charge (gratuities)
