You have:


  • Experience as an auto mechanic
  • Valid G class license (or commercial license) without restrictions
  • Clean driver's abstract
  • Experience in creating and establishing fleet policies and procedures, from vehicle assignment to replacement cycling, from personal use to accident reporting
  • Experience in pricing, specifications, and purchases or leases of vehicles and understands and tracks total cost of ownership (TCO)
  • Budgetary experience and demonstrated negotiating skills
  • Experience as an auto mechanic
or equivalent mechanical knowledge/understanding

  • Strong leadership skills gained through 3+ years of leading a team of Mechanics and/or 310T Apprentices
  • Exceptional knowledge of CVOR, OHSA, and Highway Traffic Act
  • Wellhoned decision making and problemsolving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and highly organized
  • Solid interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to health and safety
  • Available outside of regular business hours, if required, to support the needs of Customers and the business operations

As the Group Fleet Manager, you will:

  • Provide direct supervision, hiring, and evaluating the work of employees as a first-line supervisor
  • Determine whether a vehicle meets: environmental standards, purchase standards, fleet retirement (donation or disposal)
  • Develop and administer vehicle/equipment asset management processes from procurement to disposition
  • Create vehicle purchase specifications and purchase vehicles for all company divisions
  • Establish and monitors purchasing, operational, and replacement strategies and practices for the most costeffective operation
  • Develop and implement training modules for vehicles and equipment use and care
  • Oversee fueling stations and programs, reducing the fleet's carbon footprint and environmental impact
  • Responsible for all aspects of operation for a fullfledged vehicle maintenance facility and one satellite equipment repair shop
  • Ensure unit compliance with all Federal, Provincial & Local laws and regulations related to vehicle repair shop operations and vehicle and mobile equipment use and care
  • Assign tasks and ensures completion as required and as per Direct Management's preventative maintenance program
  • Provide leadership to direct reports including training/apprenticeship, performance management, and employee relations while adhering to applicable legislation; collaborate with the General Manager and/or HR team as appropriate
  • Assess, repair, and maintain all company vehicles and equipment in a timely manner as required by the company operations
  • Oversee integration of new vehicles to operational status
  • Maintain maintenance records and CVOR
  • Maintain workshop at all times and prioritize safety and cleanliness within the shop
  • Purchase parts; oversee and manage inventory
  • Participate in meetings and complete assigned tasks
