Job purpose
Ensure all manufacturing areas have material needed to manufacture orthotics in a timely manner.
Duties and responsibilities
Team Lead
- Conduct daily team meetings to communicate each day's priorities
- Advise Inventory Manager of stock discrepancies and/or requirements
- Coordinate cycle counting of materials and footwear
- Coordinate material pick up and shipments
Materials Processing
- Loads and unloads material within a warehouse or storage facility
- Keep material area organized
- Process material as needed to ensure manufacturing of orthotics in a timely manner
- Ensure machines are kept in good working order
- Ensure machine work area is kept clear of debris
- Prioritize work to fill needed material in KanBan bins
Qualifications
- 13 years of jobrelated experience
- Completion of highschool diploma and/or equivalent required
- Demonstrated knowledge of standard practices and procedures within a particular field
- Demonstrated ability to make sound judgement to plan and accomplish goals
- Ability to work under moderate supervision
- Computer proficiency in MS Office; knowledge of Great Plains & Customer Relationship Management System an asset
- Ability to work as a team and individually
- Ability to work in fastpaced environment with deadlines
- Knowledge of filling out waybills and bills of landing and international shipment, is an asset
- Demonstrated ability to operate material handling equipment including forklift truck.
- Good organizational, time management and prioritizing skills.
Working conditions
Dusty, somewhat noisy, laboratory manufacturing environment with some plastic, glue and ink odour
Physical requirements
- Required to stand for long periods of time
- Repetitive motion of arms, wrists, hands and fingers
- Frequent bending
- Short distance reaching with hands and arms
- Personal Protective Equipment required: Safety shoes, glasses, ear plugs and dust mask
- Frequently walking
- Lifting or moving heavy and large boxes up to lbs. will be required on a regular basis.
Direct reports
Lead a small team of approx. 5 employees; including receiving and materials processing individuals
