About this Opportunity
Reporting to the Manager, Accounting, the Analyst, Accounting will prepare, assist, process and perform a variety of specialized duties associated with analyzing accounting needs.
The
Analyst, Accounting will:
- Prepare daily and monthly reconciliations between Web Applications, Sage Accounting System, event reports and bank accounts in connection with the monthly close process.
- Participate in the preparation and maintenance of process documentation and records management
- Assist with preparation for the annual external audit
- Prepare monthly regulatory filings for sales tax, input tax credits and rebates for multiple provincial councils and remit to/ claim from CRA
- Process donation receipts for issuance to donors and reconcile donation accounts for purposes of filing annual information returns with CRA
- Prepare monthly reconciliation of staff credit card accounts, including required entries to reconcile accounts
- Work closely with various members of the accounting and finance teams to follow up on and correct discrepancies
- Assisting with cookies inventory and accruals during the campaign period and coordinate with Accounts Payable team when recording in SAGE
- Other duties as assigned.
- Have a degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related financial field
- Have completed or are currently enrolled in the CPA program
- Have at least 3 years of experience in an analyst role with a registered charity in Canada
- Have experience processing donation receipts for a registered charity
- Have experience preparing monthly sales tax returns for a registered charity
- Have strong attention to detail and the ability to flow through financial transactions
- Have working knowledge of/experience with Sage
- Have excellent customer service and communication skills, both verbal and written
- Have excellent organizational abilities with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks
- Are a team player with ability to work with all levels within the organization
- Are a positive, enthusiastic, and committed team player and have a demonstrated high degree of initiative, judgement and problemsolving ability
- Have demonstrated computer software proficiency with MS Office; Office 365, Advanced Excel.

Starting Annual Salary:
*$49, 314
*Salary based location, Greater Toronto Area
This position will remain open until filled. Interviews will be conducted on a rolling basis.
