RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • The Supervisor
  • Hospital Services' role is to supervise, coordinate, monitor, support, and lead staff in the efficient, effective, and safe delivery of services in Logistics and Environmental Services and other Hospital Services departments as required


  • Logistics

  • Environmental Services (EVS)
  • Stores and receiving;
  • Dispatch and portering;
  • Soiled collection/hospital linen;
  • Inventory control, supply, and distribution of inventory and non inventory supplies and equipment.
  • Teletracking / bed flow;
  • Waste management, collection, and disposal
  • Monitor assigned project work
  • Perform audits on staff
  • Assist in setting goals and objectives for the Logistics and Environmental Services
  • Assist in developing and reviewing department performance and practices, and recommending and implementing changes as required as required to improve service, meet standards, and optimally use resources
  • Ensure staff adheres to all government legislation and hospital/departmental policies and procedures
  • Assist in problemsolving, developing, and implementing solution strategies
  • Support and monitor Teletracking to ensure optimum bed flow
  • Ensure collection, disposal, and management of waste in an efficient and timely manner
  • Liase and collaborate with the overnight Administrative Supervisor to achieve organizational needs
  • Ensure departmental staffing schedule, staffing records, vacation requests, sick calls, and payroll functions and complete
  • Supervise the workload of staff by adjusting work routines if short staffed or when emergency requests are in conflict
  • Demonstrate QCH values: collaboartion, accountability, innovation and respect

REQUIREMENTS:


  • Requires a College diploma, preferably in a healthrelated field
  • Six (6) years direct experience in a Hospital Services required if in lieu of education
  • Minimum three (3) years hospital experience, within the previous 5 years
  • Minimum two (2) years previous leadership experience (preferably Logistics/EVS department)
  • Proven ability to work in an interdisciplinary environment
  • Strong information technology/systems literacy
