Position


Reporting to the Manager, Careers & Work Integrated Learning (CWIL), the MBA Career Coach and Educator (MCCE) (part-time) works closely with the MBA Career Coaching and Education Lead, full-time MBA Career Coach and broader CWIL team.

The position assists with the delivery of career management services which is designed to support students in building the skills, network and empowerment to own their career successfully upon graduation.

This role will serve primarily part-time Alberta School of Business (ASB) MBA students and will assist students with full cycle career planning with a combination of job search support, career coaching, and workshop facilitation.


The MCCE will also coordinate career events and initiatives, contribute to the management of the MBA portion of Career Connect, communication with students, Masters Programs office staff at the ASB and CWIL team.

As this position supports our part-time MBA student community, non-traditional work hours (weekends, evenings) will be required. This position is primarily remote with some on-site responsibilities.


Duties

  • Uses a studentcentered approach to providing support, mentorship, feedback and coaching.
  • Work with MBA Career Coaching & Education Lead to deliver career education programming.
  • Instruction content to focus on areas such as guiding reflection on career interests and strengths, emotional intelligence, personal branding and tactical components of work search.
  • Delivers workshops on topics such as storytelling and presentation skills in Business.
  • Develop sessions for MBAspecific student orientation.
  • Builds robust relationships with employers, community partners and alumni by creating and implementing opportunities to engage in career education initiatives with MBA students.
  • Follows up with employers and community partners as needed to help secure MBA program survey data.
