Job Summary
As the
Vice President, Sales & Business Development, Eastern Ontario you will lead a dynamic Business Development team in achieving profitability and growth for the Ontario East territory.
Responsibilities
- Partner closely with our broker partners to achieve coordinated strategic initiatives to meet our desired goals.
- Build prosperous relationships with brokers in the territory to ensure growth in the marketplace for all lines of business.
- Identify, prioritize and deploy action plans to address broker concerns.
- Accountable for retention, broker satisfaction, quality standards and profitability for their territory.
- Ensure the Sales and Business development team is closely collaborating with the operations teams (underwriting, claims, broker communications, etc) to achieve desired business results.
- Develop strategies to retain, develop and expand business with brokers in the territory.
- Collaborate in the development of strategies and communicate the vision of the organization in relation to the business plan, growth plan, products and business philosophy.
- Using our values as a foundation, you'll lead an engaged, collaborative, and inclusive team of highly driven business development professionals.
- Ensure a high level of employee engagement by continually assessing, planning and monitoring overall engagement.
- Motivating staff to participate in company objectives and continuously keeping them informed of changes or new directions affecting their territory.
- Provide market intel and identify head/tailwinds in the marketplace.
- Drive team towards excellence and achieve a consistent and sustained level of commitment.
- Work with other leaders to ensure efficient and effective administration of the business, ensuring business is meeting its targets with respect to CL and PL metrics.
Qualifications:
- Postsecondary degree in a relevant discipline (i.e. Business, Marketing), and/or 10+ years of related insurance experience.
- Experience leading initiatives, backed up with a sense of accountability and drive for excellence.
- Strong business acumen and deep understanding of broker operations.
- Deep understanding of P&C insurance products.
- Effective negotiator in complex situations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to create and present a compelling business case and strategy.
- Proven ability to collaborate with and influence stakeholders.
- Proven leadership skills and demonstration of Intact's Leadership Success Factors.
- Travel required within territory and occasionally within Canada.
