_ Position Duties and Responsibilities:
_

  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements.
  • Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools.
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials.
  • Build and erect walls, floor and roof systems.
  • Fit and install trim items, such as doors, stairs, moulding, and hardware.

_Required Qualifications_:


  • Red Seal or working towards Red Seal is an asset
  • 12 years of experience.
  • Highly motivated, energetic, personable, and forwardthinking.
  • Has analytical skills, shows initiative, and can be flexible/adaptable.
  • Knowledge of Federal/Provincial building codes.
  • Knowledge of residential and commercial construction and remodelling, trades, practices, procedures, techniques, tools and equipment, materials, specifications, quality, and cost control.
  • Have your own basic hand, power tools, and personal protection equipment.
  • Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Regulations.
  • Knowledge of workplace safety and safe lifting and handling procedures.
  • First aid is an asset.

_ Physical Requirements:
_

  • Must be able to stand and be on their feet 1012 hours/day.
  • Able to lift 50lbs
  • Use proper lifting techniques for heavy items weighing more than 25 kilograms.
  • Must be able to work in outdoor weather and/or unregulated temperatures.
