- Conducting wildlife surveys and monitoring procedures including breeding bird and herptile surveys, pre-disturbance nest surveys, nest monitoring, various sensitive species-specific surveys, construction mitigation for wildlife, bat surveys and monitoring, and herptile capture and relocation
- Providing technical wildlife support to collaborative project teams
- Manage tasks and projects according to approved scopes of works and deliver quality reports on schedule
- Liaise with on-site client representatives and contractors
- Provide quality and independent review for projects
- Provide an understanding of environmental Best Management Practices and advise clients accordingly
- Work collaboratively within the Triton corporate culture
- B.Sc. or M.Sc. in biology or related field
- Professional Biologist (Alberta Society of Professional Biologists), or Registered Professional Biologist (British Columbia College of Applied Biologists)
- 3+ years of relevant experience
- Experience conducting a broad variety of wildlife scopes in pre-construction and construction settings
- Species at Risk experience an asset
- Familiarity with provincial and federal regulations and guidance materials
- Ability to work in physically demanding remote field settings for extended durations, staying in a mix of camp and hotel accommodations
- Multi-jurisdictional knowledge of environmental regulations, policies, and permit application processes
- Strong technical writing, reporting, communication, and team leadership skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and collaborative working style
- Superior problem-solving skills, with the ability to think outside the box
- Valid driver's license from a Canadian province or Territory acceptable for driving alone and with passengers in a work setting

Triton Environmental Consultants Ltd. ("Triton") is seeking a highly-motivated and enthusiastic Intermediate Wildlife Biologist to join a well-established team of environmental professionals in our Calgary office location.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing wildlife specialist expertise to field staff and project management teams. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Triton is an environmental consulting firm with over 30 years of experience responding to the environmental needs of resource developers across all sectors, as well as all levels of government. We have deep roots in our communities, strong relationships with clients and regulators, and a track record of helping projects get built responsibly. Triton is known for being technically strong and pragmatic in its approach and having a safety-focused and people-first culture. Triton's multi-disciplinary team comprises environmental professionals specializing in aquatic and terrestrial biology, soil science, vegetation ecology, environmental assessment, environmental auditing, environmental monitoring/inspection, and resource management. We apply this wide range of expertise in providing practical environmental solutions to our clients. Triton has offices in Vancouver, Vernon, Kamloops, Prince George, Terrace, Kitimat, Prince Rupert, Calgary, Edmonton, Regina, and Saskatoon, and has now newly expanded to both Guelph and Halifax.
