In accordance with the Mission, Vision and Values, and strategic directions of Provincial Health Services Authority patient safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone at PHSA, and as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.


Reporting to the Executive Director, Post-COVID Interdisciplinary Clinical Care Network (PC-ICCN), and working in partnership with the Medical Network Director in a dyad relationship, the Network Director provides overall leadership and direction of the PC-ICCN.

The Director monitors and evaluates network priorities, projects and activities that advance best practice care for patients experiencing long COVID through collaboration at the provincial and regional levels.

PC-ICCN provides a unique and challenging mandate and recommends improvements to health care policy.

The Director provides strategic leadership and guidance to key partners to support effective knowledge translation, education, and best practices in post COVID recovery.

The Director works as a strategic partner with key provincial partners including the Health Authorities, Ministry of Health and Primary Care providers, negotiating consensus on a variety of PC-ICCN matters.


Based on the priorities established by PHSA, the Director leads strategic planning, including development of PC-ICCN priorities working in conjunction with medical leadership.

In addition, this role is responsible for the development of PC-ICCN's annual objectives and key performance indicators.

The Director oversees network operations including coordination of all committees, working groups, ad hoc committees, and projects including financial and contract management.

This role also provides direct supervision to PC-ICCN staff to accomplish established PC-ICCN goals and objectives.


What you'll do

  • Leads the strategic development of PC-ICCN's short and longterm priorities; its annual goals and objectives as well as key performance indicators, ensuring the work aligns with the mission, vision, values, and direction of PSHA. Communicates updates and changes to external organizations.
  • Develops and implements business plans in alignment with the goals and objectives of the PC-ICCN Steering Committee as well as aligning with priorities set by PHSA. Responsible for developing the content of the PC-ICCN annual report as well as lead the implementation of longrange strategic plans.
  • Oversees and is accountable for the PC-ICCN budget, establishing priorities, and the allocation of resources to meet program objectives. Provides expert advice and consultation to leadership and external partners regarding the complex issues, activities, and goals of the PC-ICCN community of practice.
  • Analyzes and synthesizes complex and diverse scientific research and assessments to develop responsive strategic short and longterm range post COVID recovery initiatives that will meet the needs of policy makers and practitioners from across the province. Negotiates and facilitates in provincial forums to build consensus g and coordinate multiple stakeholder groups with conflicting goals or unclear guidelines such as the. Ministry of Health, policy makers, and experts in the field.
  • Develops business cases, operational reviews, needs assessments and environmental scans, budget proposals, enhancement and change requests, project plans and other critical operational activities and reports in collaboration with staff members/partners. Develops network status updates and shares with partners and governing organizations.
  • Leads the coordination of the PC-ICCN community of practice to respond to emerging threats and changes in the evolving body of knowledge for post COVID recovery, and organizational environment to develop policy and/or changes in policy, training, and standards of practice. Ensures PC-ICCN activities in support of a provincial approach and framework for post COVID recovery.
  • Represents PC-ICCN provincially, nationally, and internationally to government agencies, professional regulatory bodies, other healthcare delivery organizations and post COVID recovery networks, special interest groups, the general public and other key partners. Fosters, and manages relationships and linkages with stakeholder organizations, policy makers, national organizations and the PC-ICCN community of practice as well as identifying strategic opportunities and alliances for the network.
  • Provides leadership to staff through coaching, guiding, and modeling key behaviours/strategies, encouraging dialogue, and providing guidance and advice to facilitate resolutions to work issues.
