As a
Product Development - Co-op Student, you will assist in the development of new products from initial concept thru to manufactured, tested & certified products.

Support current product changes and sustainment.


Responsibilities will include:


  • With direction from Design Leader and/or Senior Designers, creation of design/engineering documentation to support product introductions and/or revisions as follows:
  • Create/update 3D Models.
  • Create/update design drawings and specifications.
  • Create/update product rules.
  • Create/update Bill of Materials (BOM).
  • Create 3D printed parts, as required.
  • Create/update product rules.
  • Take part in and provide feedback at Design review meetings.
  • Support PDM, ME and Manufacturing during product related implementations.
  • Assist Lab Technician with test unit bucking, testing and root cause analysis as needed.
  • Confirm Design effectiveness with involvement in prototyping and testing as needed.
  • Follow documented ECN process for all product changes.
  • Effectively communicate with internal customers.
  • Take part in product idea generation as required.
  • Continuous Improvement continually look for and implement ways to eliminate all types of waste example process waste.
  • As needed provide support with other team member projects to ensure department goals are successfully met.
  • Assist in creation of testing reports and documentation as needed.

Requirements for this role:


  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Inventor and 3D modeling, MS Word, Excel & Wrike
  • Working toward a Mechanical/Structural Engineering or Technologist Diploma.
  • Mechanically inclined.
  • Strong oral and written English communication and organizational skills.
  • Results oriented and ability to work in a time sensitive environment.
  • Highlevel problemsolving skills with attention to detail.
  • Materials and processing knowledge of wood, aluminum, fiberglass, vinyl, etc.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Skills in report writing.
