- The associate filling this role will specifically:_
- Partner with Human Resources and senior business leaders to develop pay programs for our Canada Business
- Deliver expert compensation consulting and develop proposals and presentations about compensation programs (including market data and appropriate pay levels/targets) to influence and educate senior level decisionmakers.
- Perform deep analysis on effectiveness and competitiveness of existing compensation programs and model potential impact of alternatives.
- Conduct job evaluations using market data and internal evaluation, and regularly analyze our market position on jobs; make recommendations on market adjustments.
- Research and formulate recommendations on external and internal employment offers, job leveling, and internal equity adjustments through the use of salary surveys and internal compensation tools.
- Be an influential HR leader who thinks beyond compensation programs and builds strategic initiatives in close partnership with our HR analytics and benefits teams
What We're Looking For:
- Expertise in Compensation Management. Ideally you will have experience building compensation models and conducting pay analysis. We'd also love to hear from you if you have relevant Human Capital / HR Consulting or relevant Financial Analysis experience.
- Experience in a client consulting role. You'll exhibit strong communication, influencing, and problem solving skills towards all stakeholders.
- Confident presenter and experience developing databased stories in Excel and PowerPoint. You'll know how to make your case and help others understand and adopt your recommendations and insight.
- Knowledge of Canada compensation laws and relevant labor laws. You'll understand not only the regulatory framework but also the business context and appreciate how your work contributes to the HR and business strategy for Capital One in Canada.

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or military experience.
- At least 3 years of experience in Compensation.
- At least 3 years of experience in client consulting role.
- At least 3 years of experience with MS Excel / Google Sheets and developing databased stories in MS Powerpoint / Google Slides.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Statistics, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or Human Resources.
- Master's Degree in Accounting, Statistics, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or Human Resources.
- 5+ years of experience in Compensation.
- 5+ years of experience in client consulting role.
- Experience with benchmarking tools
- Experience building compensation models and conducting pay analysis.
- Experience in the Financial Services Industry.
- Knowledge of human resources and compensation including knowledge of relevant Federal, Provincial, and Local laws/regulations relating to compensation.
