Position Overview:


NUVIA is currently recruiting for a
Radiation Protection Administrator to join our growing environmental remediation support team in Port hope, Ontario.

The Radiation Protection Administrator (RPA) will support project Health Physicists/Radiation Protection Specialists to prepare documents, perform quality checks, and coordinate training.

They will also assist in instrument handling and tracking.


Upon successful completion of 12 months, priority consideration will be given to the incumbent for a Radiation Protection Technician role within the company.


Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Perform quality checks on RP field forms and RP documents.
  • Support Radiation Protection Specialists (RPS) with collection and tracking of bioassay samples.
  • Working with the RPS', assist in preparing, coordinating, and scheduling project required training: client requirements, safety, operating procedures, and quality to ensure employees are compliant with the training required for their position.
  • Schedule, monitor and followup on CNL and PHRA requalification training matrix.
  • In coordination with the RPS', monitor and maintain records/qualifications in the Learning Management Systems.
  • Assist the RPS' in creating the RP monthly report.
  • Assist the RPS' in handling and tracking of instruments.
  • Assist with other administrative tasks when requested by RPS and/or Manager.

Skills / Qualifications:


  • A degree in Radiation Protection, from Algonquin or Loyalist colleges.
  • Strong ability to use Microsoft Office Applications (especially Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Maintain confidentiality and discretion.
  • Solid interpersonal skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly in English, both written and orally.
  • Have and maintain a valid class G Canadian driver's license.
