About the Position


As a member of the counselling team at Family Services Ottawa (FSO) and under the supervision of the Clinical Manager the counsellor will be responsible for providing direct short-term solution-focused counselling services to individuals, couples and families, primarily to clients of FSEAP.

This includes the delivery of workshops, orientations and trauma debriefings to organizations contracted for services through FSEAP. This position is scheduled a minimum of one evening per week.

About You

You have completed a Master's degree in Social Work, Education in Counselling, Psychotherapy or equivalent.

You are a member of a regulatory college (OCSWSSW, CRPO) and have maintained the right to practice the controlled act of psychotherapy within the province of Ontario.

You have 3 to 5 years of related experience working with individuals, couples, families and/or groups.

  • Legal entitlement to work in Canada
  • Current full immunization to Covid19 *Subject to FSO's duty to accommodate under the Ontario Human Rights Code
  • Criminal record check deemed acceptable to FSO (Vulnerable Sector Check is required for most positions)
