Our Team:


The Copper Cliff Mine Complex Team is integral to the success of the operation in becoming a safe, predictable, and reliable producer.

The role will oversee Production activities and will work closely with other Process Superintendents to ensure that the Production and Operations is on track with the operational needs of Copper Cliff Mine Complex.


The Opportunity


We are currently seeking a
Fixed Plant Superintendent Process II
to join our Copper Cliff Mine Complex
in Sudbury, Ontario.

This is a permanent **position.


You will lead a team of Maintenance Planners & Schedulers for the mine and support the execution of Maintenance work on all assets.

Process accountabilities require you to monitor, identify and implement opportunities to reduce variation in control processes and systems (technical, social, and commercial) within your area(s) of accountability.


Additionally, in this position you will:

  • Audit and analyze systems within the area(s) of accountability to achieve the following outputs:
  • Zero harm to employees, the business, the environment, and the community,
  • Achieve/exceed production quality and quantity targets while improving economic resource recovery.
  • Achieve total product and unit cost, and capital expenditure targets.
  • Monitor area maintenance performance, and asset integrity, to confirm that processes are in place to maintain the plant and equipment, sustain/build capability, and to achieve the targets outlined in the Execution plan.
  • Audit and analyze KPIs and trends in safety, maintenance, cost, quality, and consumption of resources. Develop and implement actions to address common cause variances or continuous improvement opportunities, with a focus on optimal resource allocation while meeting the quantity and quality output requirements for internal and/or external customers.
  • Develop weekly and monthly maintenance schedules (including associated planned packages), update schedules, escalate when schedules will not be achieved and manage plant activities on the off shifts as required in the oncall scheduling.
  • Lead and ensure HomeSafe behaviors are exhibited by team members and coach team to consistently achieve Managing Risk to go HomeSafe, taking corrective action when necessary to address noncompliance.
  • Provide performance feedback to team members, coach, and counsel employees on the standards of behavior, and take corrective action as required
  • Contribute to the succession planning processe and make recommendations to the Manager on ways to improve the capability of the L1 team to meet future needs through selection and development.
  • Contribute to the implementation of new systems/processes and provide guidance, auditing, mentoring and analysis support to the management team. Work with the HSE Committee to develop actions to improve safety, health and environmental performance and verify compliance with established Service Level Agreements (SLA) and required standards.

About You

Education:


  • Engineering Technologist or Engineering Degree preferred.

Experience:


  • Minimum 5 years' experience in Maintenance Supervision, Planning/Scheduling or Reliability related role.

Skills:


  • Advanced knowledge of SAP functionality.
  • Maintenance supervision, project implementation, and engineering knowledge.
  • Robust knowledge and experience in industrial maintenance.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and interpersonal skills.
  • Must have strong organization, systematic and time management skills.
  • Takes initiative and is selfdirected to accomplish goals with minimum supervision.
  • Solid oral and written communication skills.
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
