Project Coordinator - Mississauga, Canada - SCPHR
Description
In this role, your key responsibilities will include, but not limited to:- Provide overall coordination and support for the project.
- Assist the Project Manager and Superintendent with overall project performance including costs, schedule, quality and project status
- Track responses and advise the Project Manager and Superintendent of the status of RFIs.
- Review shop drawings/samples/submittals received from subcontractors and forward to architect /consultant for approval
- Process changes received from the Client and/or Architect including contacting the subcontractor for pricing and checking subcontractor's quotations to ensure that they are complete.
- Develop and maintain excellent relationship with sub trades and clients.
- Coordinate, manage and communicate with all subcontractors and effectively deal with problems such as delivery and schedule.
- Manage change order processes, including pricing, negotiating, processing and assessing cost.
- Ensure that projects meet approved specification and timelines.
- Update related reports on a timely basis.
- Ensure that construction sites are adequately insured, obtain WSIB clearance certificates from subcontractors
To qualify for this role, you will have:
- A valid license and a vehicle in good working order
- A degree or diploma in project/construction management or 2+ years of experience as a construction coordinator/ Jr. project coordinator
- Excellent oral and written communication
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Etc.)
- Ability to read drawings and project/structural design interpretations
