About the Position:


Key Responsibilities:


  • Maintain accurate corporate accounting records, including preparing and posting journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements along with related working papers.
  • Coordinate and complete assigned monthend close processes within the deadline. These processes involve revenue and expenses accruals, expense allocation, foreign exchange translation, and consolidation.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts, identifying and promptly resolving discrepancies.
  • Assist in reviewing, reconciling, and assessing subsidiary entities' books.
  • Prepare a monthly operating expenses report for cost center owners.
  • Compile monthend and quarterend management and regulatory reporting packages.
  • Review invoice coding for accuracy and assist with accounts payable (A/P).
  • Calculate and file corporate HST (Harmonized Sales Tax).
  • Prepare yearend audit supporting working papers and support the annual financial audit.
  • Contribute to the continuous process improvements in operating processes and reporting.
  • Participate in system implementation and projects as required.

Job Requirements:


Education and Experience:


  • University degree or college diploma in Accounting, Business, or a related discipline.
  • 2+ years of accounting experience.
  • Strong skills in Excel and Word, including pivot tables and advanced Excel functions.
  • Experience with accounting systems.
  • Experience with Yardi is an asset.

  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Dependable, selfdirected, and able to complete assigned work with limited supervision.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple priorities within timelines and escalate issues on a timely basis.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, and effective interpersonal skills.
  • Diligent in completing assigned work and proactively follow up when needed to ensure outstanding information or actions are complete.
  • Eager to learn and expand your skillset, and comfortable adapting to changing responsibilities in a fastpaced environment.
  • Ability to evaluate problems and always seek process improvement opportunities and automation wherever possible.
  • Demonstrates a high degree of integrity, diplomacy, and discretion.
