Skylark Counselling is seeking a part-time creative, independent, and driven individual to amplify both our online presence and client experience.

We are a busy team of Registered Clinical Counsellors supporting individuals in the Lower Mainland.

Role Description


The Web Development & Communications Assistant manages and maintains our company website to increase visibility and engagement with potential clients, improve content readability, and enhance the user experience with easy and clear site navigation.

The role will also be responsible for supporting the Operations Manager and team members with formatting and beautifying business deliverables including manuals and forms.


We have an existing website using WordPress, and it is our hope to find someone who can better our current site with their experience of front-end (and back-end, as needed) skills, creative eye, and initiative.

Not only are we hoping to find an individual with the skills, but also someone who is a community leader and wishes to connect individuals with a valuable service, such as counselling.


Responsibilities of the Role

  • Oversee the frontend (and backend as needed) of our company website to improve site navigation
  • Support our Operations Manager to generate a website and deliverables that encourage users to visit and engage with website content
  • Collaborate with our Operations Manager and Clinical Director to enhance website appearance, flow, and layout
  • Create or update website content to reflect the business' strategic plan while maintaining a balance of supportive and compassionate language for our potential clients
  • Conceptualize and produce graphic art and visual materials to effectively communicate information for our website, client deliverables, clinical articles, and internal documents
  • Successful completion of IT and/or website coursework such as Front End Web Development, Back End Web Development, User Interface (UI) and User Experience (UX) Design, Graphics, Adobe Illustrator
  • Comfortability to independently perform frontend and backend duties such as basic coding to support our existing website
  • Understanding of WordPress, Siteground and JavaScript to optimize website design for layout, flow and appearance

Job Types:
Part-time, Freelance

Part-time hours: 3-5 per week

$25.00 per hour
