Resource Development Specialist
(Full-time Contract from May 15, 2023 to July 7, 2023)

What you'll get to do:
- Support with needs analysis and Intake of new clients.
- Conduct research and compile resources specific to best practices for settlement workers.
- Coordinate with internal resources to gather service delivery tools for better practices and cross collaboration.
- Help create 'Resource Guide' for the Settlement Workers for the purpose of developing a go to tool for effective service delivery to newcomers
- Develop both hard copy and online tool of the guide.
- Present 'Resource Guide' to internal programs.
What you need to know/have:
- Understanding of newcomer settlement services in addition to community resources relating to newcomer settlement services
- Knowledge, understanding, and sensitivity to issues affecting newcomers, specifically immigrant and refugee populations
- Experience and/or ability to conduct research and resources development
- Good knowledge and experience in digital platforms, including social media
- Ability to work with various levels of learners within teams, and in a virtual environment
- Flexible and adaptable working within diverse populations
- Good English language communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficiency in a second language relevant to the demographics of Peel Region is an asset
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
- Per funding requirements opportunity is open to youth aged years
- Must be able to commit to full contract duration.
- Completed or currently enrolled in postsecondary education preferable in a related field
- Strong computer skills in MS Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Location:
Mississauga
Hours: 35 per week
Compensation:
$15.50 per hour
