    Description

    Catholic Crosscultural Services (CCS) is a settlement agency providing a wide range of services to immigrants and refugees regardless of race, religion or status.

    We are searching for a full-time Settlement Worker to provide settlement information and referral services as well as programming activities for seniors.

    W hat you will be doing:

    • Provide one-on-one counselling support to seniors, including assessment, information and orientation at CCS offices and other community partner locations.
    • Help seniors to develop personalized goals and provide follow-up support
    • Facilitate appropriate internal/external referrals to services required by clients that are not been provided by the program.
    • Organize, plan and facilitate group activities to address seniors' needs including digital literacy, health and wellness.
    • Facilitate activities to enhance social connections and interaction among seniors from diverse background
    • Develop and implement community outreach plans to promote the services and activities.
    • Recruit and engage volunteers to provide peer support and facilitate group activities
    • Actively participate in regular team and regional meetings.
    • Maintain and update all client information in the OCMS database.
    • Prepare and submit timely statistical and progress reports as required.
    • Perform other duties as assigned

    What are we looking for?

    • Social Service Work diploma or Social Work degree from recognized institution or equivalent training in community work sectors
    • Minimum of 2 years' work experience in the settlement and/or senior focused initiatives.
    • Knowledge of community resources available in Scarborough, and Fluency in a second language relevant to the community is an asset.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point). Proficient in Google platforms (slack, forms, surveys, meet etc.), virtual meeting tools, social media

    Location: Scarborough

    Compensation: $28.52 to $31.74 based on experience

    Hours of work : 35 hours per week, including evenings, weekends and occasional overtime is required
