The Production Supervisor works under the general direction of the Operations Manager and other designated management as required and will be responsible for directing, disciplining, training, and assisting the production team whilst achieving an efficient workflow throughout the day.


YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Accomplish production results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures;
  • Maintain staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees; developing personal growth opportunities;
  • Maintain workflow by monitoring steps of the process; setting processing variables; observing control points and equipment; monitoring personnel and resources; studying methods; implementing cost reductions; developing reporting procedures and systems; facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points; initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments;
  • Complete production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries;
  • Maintain quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards;
  • Ensure operation of equipment by calling for repairs; evaluating new equipment and techniques;
  • Provide manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data; answering questions and responding to requests;
  • Create and revises systems and procedures by analyzing operating practices, recordkeeping systems, forms of control, and budgetary and personnel requirements; implementing change;
  • Maintain safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures;
  • Resolve personnel problems by analyzing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending action;
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking stateoftheart practices; participating in professional societies; and
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

WHAT YOU BRING:

  • WHMIS training/certification preferred;
  • Familiarity with Health Canada regulated environments and protocols;
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and production processes/procedures;
  • Proactive mindset and ability to selfmotivate;
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with strong attention to detail;
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) coupled with strong interpersonal skills; ability to work with a variety of personalities in a dynamic environment.

YOUR EXPERIENCE:

  • 5 years' experience within a CPG brand in a similar Production Supervisor position; Cannabis industry considered an asset;
  • Experience working in GMP/GPP facilities strongly preferred; and
  • Previous experience working in the regulated cannabis industry considered an asset.
