RELIEF (CASUAL) CHILD &YOUTH WORKER

Salary:
$17.96 an hour with increases based on hours of service
plus $3.00 per hour Government Wage Enhancement
You must be available a
minimum of six shifts per month including some weekend work. Flexible hours, can work up to 40 hours per week.

Since 1980, Pioneer Youth Services operates residential treatment homes for children and youth with behavioural, social, emotional, developmental. and psychological disorders

Requirements

G-Class Driver's License,

Responsibilities and Duties

Counseling residents individually and/or in a group setting

Carrying out regular, planned programs and activities & provide on the floor supervision:

Monitors interaction between individual residents and intervene if issues arise
Teaching social and life skills through interaction and modelling
Liaise with family and social worker of resident
Completing logs and incident reports as required
Administer medications

Qualifications and Skills

Strong behaviour management skills
Experience in a residential treatment (group home) setting for children and young adults with emotional, physical, social, behavioural challenges and/or dual diagnosed youths would be an asset
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
Strong ability to build productive and supportive relationships with both staff and residents
