JOB DESCRIPTION


As a
Human Resources Business Partner,
you will provide day-to-day support to the HR Director and help drive the people agenda through talent acquisition initiatives, engagement, and people development.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage recruitment life cycle such as posting, prescreening, talent profiling, initial phone interviews, interview scheduling, liaison with recruitment agencies, and maintain employer brand presence on LinkedIn and corporate website.
  • Manage and oversee new hire onboarding experience and develop plans for continuous improvement (i.e., coordinate onboarding schedule, logistics for new hire, own HR Orientation welcome session)
  • Provide full range of operational HR support to management and employees and respond to/followup on employee inquires as first line of support. Escalate to HR Director in complex situations.
  • Responsible for compiling and analyzing data for HR Scorecard, and other data/reporting as requested
  • Draft employment agreements for new hires and any other employment changes requiring documentation (i.e., employment verification letters, promotions)
  • Provide HR policy guidance and interpretation
  • Assist HR Director in reviewing/drafting HR policies and procedures, and wide range of employee communications to align with the organization's objectives and legislative requirements
  • Update and maintains employee files
  • Build and maintain strong relationships across organization, including providing ongoing support and guidance on various HR matters.
  • Supports engagement and wellness initiatives
  • Administrator for Benefits Programs and liaison with benefits provider to manage leave of absences, including facilitating returntowork plans.
  • Process employment events (hires, promotions, transfers) and process employee life events (i.e., benefits updates, banking address changes) and ensure data integrity of Workday
  • Update employee handbook to ensure it is current and meets legislative requirements
  • Own the monthly HR newsletter to ensure employees receive relevant and timely updates
  • Assist Events Team/Social Committee to execute on social/engagement events
  • Keep up to date on trends and changes in legislation related to Human Resources and Employment law and recommend best practices
  • Update organizational charts
  • HR Representative on the Joint Health & Safety Committee to ensure organization is fully compliant with health and safety legislation (i.e., attend meetings, inspections)
  • Provide HR project/assignment support to HR Director as needed

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Completion of postsecondary education in Human Resources Management, Business, or related field
  • CHRP/CHRL designation considered an asset
  • 23 years Human Resources experience (i.e., recruiting, employee relations, policy guidance/interpretation, new hire onboarding, HR administration, HRIS systems etc.)
  • Knowledge and experience in MS office (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
  • Familiarity with all related legislation including but not limited to Employment Standards Act and Human Rights Act etc.
  • Excels at relationship building
  • Demonstrated excellent communication skills both oral and written
  • Excellent organization, time management and interpersonal skills are essential
  • High degree of discretion in handling confidential matters/information
  • Experience with managing and maintaining HRIS (I.e., workday) would be an asset
