We are looking for a talented
Product Safety Engineering Leader to support the HyLYZER-1000 and join our
#Accelera by Cummins Business unit located in
Mississauga, ON.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

This product focused, developing leadership position performs established technical tasks at the product and cross-business integration level for current and future products within a given business unit or corporate area.

This involves work across many steps in the product life cycle.

Because of the product centered nature of this position, they are very often a central point of coordination and decision making between product engineers, product line engineers, customer teams, purchasing, suppliers and manufacturing.

Obtains input from stakeholders such as technical managers, project leaders, other product and manufacturing engineers and supplier partners to deliver information and recommendations that lead to quality product decisions.
Uses systems knowledge and expertise to make decisions in the areas of technology integration, design, analysis and experimental test verification and validation for both new a current products that impact product form, functionality and overall project risk tradeoffs.
Creates, manages, improves and applies processes such ESW, iDFMEA, FIRG and tools such as 7step problem solving, design review checklist and other specialized tools required to support the processes and enable high quality decision making.
Provides problem resolution leadership for complex systems with a high degree of ambiguity and often global business impact.

Leads the development and improvement of work processes and systems across function(s) within a global business unit or managing improvement across business units.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

Demonstrated success having worked in a Technical Specialist/Specialist Engineering role on lower complexity product development activities, translating customer needs and negotiating into product development plans, technical profiles and/or product specifications with a proven track record of successful product decisions.
This role will focus on leading all aspects of Product Safety for the Electrolyzer Product. This product focused position applies highly specialized
This Role requires driving the product engineering and production teams to success completion of task detail in the Functional Safety Life Cycle.
Risk Assessments PHA(HAZOP/LOPA), QRA, ETA, FTA / Drive Completion of Risk Assessment Recommendation / Verify / Validate that Risk
Assessment Recommendation are in design / Safety Integrity Level (SIL) Determination/ Creation of Safety Requirement Specification (SRS)SILVerification / Validation / Factory Acceptance Test / Site Acceptance Test / Pre-Start Safety Review (PSSR) test plan for Safety Instrumented
Functions / Creates Functional Safety Related Documents for the production / Creates Functional Safety policies and procedures / Performs 3rd party verification of other product Functional Safety elements / Support Product Compliance Activities
This role effectively communicates the capability of a systemlevel design concept to meet a vast set of requirements including a holistic assessment of alternative design concepts and leads the development of systemlevel requirements by working with and leading the other engineering and crossfunctional disciplines.

Education, Licenses, Certifications

College, university, or equivalent Bachelor's degree in Engineering or appropriate STEM field is required.

Post-graduate (Master's) degree relevant to this discipline area may be required for select roles.

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations
