Job Summary


The Case Assistant, Workers' Compensation is responsible for providing confidential administrative services and supporting the day-to-day administrative requirements of the Workers' Compensation team.

The role ensures the overall efficient administrative operation of the regional team including supporting the Workers' Compensation Officers.


Main Responsibilities

  • Receive, distribute, and coordinate incoming mail, materials and information as well as respond to routine correspondence from internal and external stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain the operational areas information database via Systems, Applications, and Products (SAP), Teams and Outlook including reference materials, publications, and filing systems
  • Prepare and update a variety of correspondence, reports, and materials for internal and external stakeholders
  • Coordinate the payments of all incoming physician and Workers' Compensation invoices
  • Order and maintain office supplies and equipment
  • Perform other related duties to support the regional Workers' Compensation Officers, as assigned

Working Conditions
The role has standard working conditions in an office environment with a regular workweek from Monday to Friday. The role is eligible to participate in CN's flexible work policy.

Due to the nature of the role, the incumbent must be able to meet tight deadlines, handle pressure, and stress.


Requirements:


Experience
Office Administration

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in office administration
  • Experience working with sensitive medical information

Education/Certification/Designation

  • High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED)

Technical Skills/Knowledge

  • Ability to type 45 words per minute
  • Knowledge of computer software including Microsoft Outlook, Teams, SAP and Internet tools
  • General knowledge of the Workers' Compensation Board operations and legislation
  • Fluently bilingual, both written and verbal (English, French)
  • Any knowledge for any of the above would be considered as an asset
