    The Role

    As a Bookkeeper you will be a vital member of the financial team responsible for maintaining accurate and organized financial records. This role requires a detail-oriented and systematic professional with a strong understanding of accounting principles and a commitment to ensuring the financial health of the organization.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Departmental Duties

  • Responsible for the general ledger activity including posting, processing.
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet account reconciliations, identify/resolve discrepancies, and report financial misstatements in accordance with our accounting policies (GAAP) and SOX controls.
  • Prepare daily bank reconciliation
  • Responsible for Accounts Receivable, billing, collection, and reconciliation.
  • Maintain fixed asset register, recognition, depreciation, etc.
  • Provide cover for accounts payable.
  • Assist with internal, external audit requests and address/remediate findings.
  • Assist in preparation of budgets.
  • Assist in preparation of monthly financial package.
  • Other Duties

  • Participate in special ad-hoc duties and projects.
  • Take part and assist in process improvement initiatives to capture efficiencies in processes.

  • Education, Experience and Requirements

  • 2+ years of accounting experience.
  • Degree or Diploma in Accounting required.
  • CPB or CPA designation would be an asset.
  • Demonstrated advanced Excel experience.
  • Experience working with outside auditors and regulatory examiners.
  • Experience with Sage, and Yardi Voyager is an asset.
  • Physical Requirements and work environment:

  • Sitting for prolonged periods of time.
  • Working extra hours as necessary.
