    A handson role helping children and youth in your community


An integral member of a multi-disciplinary Community Mental Health Team and in coordination with other community agencies and professionals, you provide a range of mental health services to children, youth and their families, when the child or youth is suffering from serious emotional, psychological, behavioral or psychiatric illness.


The Integrated Practice Clinician works specifically with children, youth and families that are involved with MCFD's teams such as intake, family service, guardianship, and adoptions teams.

Through a neurodevelopmental and trauma informed approach the Integrated Practice Clinician engages the community care teams of these children, youth and families in a collaborative treatment effort to help mitigate the impact of abuse, trauma, neglect, violence and other adverse childhood experiences on their mental health and help increase their environmental and relational stability.


Job Requirements:


  • Masters in Social Work, Educational Counselling, Clinical Psychology or Child and Youth Care or comparable graduate degree at the Master's level, or equivalent.
  • NOTE: If your degree was obtained outside of Canada, you need to confirm it has been assessed for equivalency through the International Credential Evaluation Services (ICES).
You must provide a basic report by the closing date of this posting to be considered.

  • Minimum of one year fulltime equivalent experience working with children and youth and their families, with responsibility for providing a wide range of community based mental health services. Must possess and maintain a valid class 5 BC Driver's license with no restriction or equivalent (i.e. from another Canadian Province).
Preference may be given to applicants with the following:


  • Two years or more experience working with children and youth and their families, with responsibility for providing a wide range of community based mental health services.
  • Experience in providing direct interventions around the traumabased behaviours of children and youth.
  • Completed formal postgraduate trauma training focusing on neurodevelopment, and attachment such as: Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics (Child Trauma Academy), Completion of the CCI (Complex Care Intervention) Certification Program, and/or the Complex Trauma Certificate (JIBC).
  • Completed training in infant mental health and parentchild relational interventions and assessment tools such as: Watch, Wait and Wonder, The Circle of Security, and the AMBIANCE-Brief measure.
  • Demonstrated experience facilitating presentations on trauma informed material to social workers, caregivers, educators, and other professionals involved in the care and treatment of complex children and youth.
  • Experience providing a variety of outreach and communitybased workrelated activities. Applicants who selfidentify as First Nations, Métis or Inuit with the required combination of education and experience.

Applicants who do not fully meet the required qualifications may be considered for this position, but at a lower classification.
