Position Information:


This role is responsible for performing corrective and preventive maintenance on medical equipment, staff training, safety inspections, calibration, quality assurance, equipment design and testing, project management, and database management.


This role provides general oversight of the day-to-day activities of Dialysis Technicians, assisting the Manager with planning and controlling activities involving these employees.

This role acts as the technical expert within the Dialysis Technical Team.


Rotation/Shifts:

Days, including weekends, 8 hour shifts. Must be available for stand by and call back on evenings, nights, weekends and statutory holidays.

Basic Requirements:


  • Minimum Three (3) year College dipolma in Biomedical Engineering Technologist, or Electronics Engineering Technologist;
  • Five (5) years of related experience; extensive experience with current incenter dialysis machines;
  • Valid Gclass (or equivalent) driver's license;
  • Vendor signoff to work on current dialysis machines used by the program (37.5 hours);
  • Knowledge of Anatomy and Physiology;
  • Knowledge of Physics;
  • Knowledge of Electricity Principle, Instrumentation, Designing Principle;
  • Familiarity with schematic & Construction Blueprints;
  • Communication Skills;
  • Mechanical ability;
  • Fabrication and building skills;
  • Very good dexterity with small and intricate parts;
  • Judgment;
  • Attention to detail;
  • Advanced troubleshooting;

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Certificate in BMET, CEBT, OACETT
