Job Summary

We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Buyer to be responsible for selecting and purchasing quality products for our business.

Your responsibilities will include processing purchase orders, negotiating with suppliers, tracking orders, creating and maintaining an inventory and liaising with Materials team and management.

The buyer will work with staff across departments to forecast the needs of the business and make purchase decisions based on demand.

The Buyer should be analytically minded and possess excellent negotiating skills to secure the best prices according to budget

Responsibilities:

VMI Management
Purchasing order processing
Plant Consumables Inventory Management and Procurement
Plant Services Management and Procurement (i.e. Landscaping, Waste Disposal)
Production Part sourcing.
Follow all plant HR and Safety Policies
Ability to work well in groups and individually
Build relationships with suppliers and negotiate with them for the best pricing.
Coordinate with materials team, and management as required.
Work within ERP system.
Ensure adequate inventory levels by monitoring, adjusting and ordering supplies based on consumption
Create and analyze buying reports

Job Qualifications

Supply Chain Management experience an asset
A minimum of 3 years working in a manufacturing setting with exposure to MRO purchasing and VMI management
ERP experience with JD Edwards experience an asset
Experience sourcing varying types of commodities with a focus on parts used in manufacturing steel structures
Strong Communication Skills
