WHAT WILL YOU DO?

You will integrate into a relatively new team of engineers, technologists and technicians to provide leadership on projects in the rural development field for several market sectors.

You will be the project lead and technical reviewer for related projects and will be a mentor for both intermediate and junior staff on your team.

You will also have the opportunity to leverage your network and lead the growth of the Hydrogeology service group.


ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

  • Responsibilities include project planning, scheduling, allocation of personnel and resources, budgeting, overall supervision of project personnel, and communication with clients.
  • Prepare and review reports, maps, drawings, aerial photography, and other topographical or geologic data to plan projects.
  • Conduct or supervise field investigations to acquire appropriate data, while ensuring compliance with all health, safety and government regulations and provide analysis of hydrogeological data and interpretation of results.
  • Design and supervise monitoring programs (water level) and sampling programs (surface water and groundwater).
  • Design and supervise staff for hydraulic pumping tests for water supply wells.
  • Prepare/write hydrogeological assessments for various approvals, including Site Plan Approvals, Permit To Take Water and the Environmental Activity and Sector Registry.
  • Directly responsible for the health and safety of any person working on an assignment under the supervision of the project manager.
  • Directly accountable for revenue, costs and profitability on all project work assigned to the project manager.
  • Willing to travel to project sites and meetings as required. Providing mentorship and training to junior Cambium personnel.

Job Requirements:


  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in consulting in Ontario
  • A Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Earth Sciences or Environmental Engineering.
  • Professional designation (P.Geo. or P. Eng.).
  • Comfort with business development initiatives, networking, client interaction, and building our business is a key requirement for this role.
  • Thorough knowledge of and ability to interpret regulations, guidelines and standards with excellent judgment and problemsolving skills.
  • Experience managing projectrelated financial data.
  • Able to effectively present ideas and technical information clearly and concisely in oral and written form in English.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills that facilitate detailed planning, timely decisionmaking and efficient implementation.
