ATB Capital Markets provides advisory and product solutions such as: payments, liquidity, trade finance, online FX, digital assets and project finance.

The corporate banking group comprises a number of industry groups: Energy, Project Finance, Infrastructure, Renewables, Diversified Industries and Loan Syndications.

Our Calgary office is looking for a student to join our Corporate Banking group for the Summer 2023 term.

Key Responsibilities:

Individuals will be assigned a wide variety of projects and given as much responsibility as their experience and capabilities permit, some of which may include:

Acts as a trusted partner, building long term relationships with the clients, framing potential opportunities and provides/identifies complex equity, debt and hybrid solutions for mid to large-sized companies
Serves as a deep expert across a variety of complicated financial products and topics, including but not limited to financial markets (such as FX/derivatives), cash management, equity capital markets / debt capital markets, loan syndication; works in an integrated framework to assist in delivery of ancillary products to our client base
Assists and guides the Financing Specialist in performing financial modeling and analysis for complex lending

Requirements:

Enrolment in a Bachelor's degree in Business / Commerce with an emphasis on Finance or Accounting
Past Coop Experience in Financial Services is preferred (investment banking, corporate finance, private equity, consulting or other relevant experience)
Strong financial modeling/valuation and analytical skills
Selfstarter and strong team player with an ability to work well in a fastpaced environment
Outstanding quantitative and analytical skills to support recommendations and advice
Strong oral and written communication skills, intellectual ability and time management skills
Strong work ethic and motivation
Exceptional attention to detail
