From procurement to performing lab processes and procedures safely, efficiently, and effectively, while ensuring all lab data is correctly and accurately recorded and communicated.

The Chinook Regional Hospital (CRH) in Lethbridge provides a full suite of healthcare services including the Jack Ady Cancer Centre and serves over 150,000 people.

Description:


As a Medical Laboratory Assistant I, you will provide high quality service to clients of the clinical laboratory in an effective, efficient and safe manner.

You will be responsible for a variety of laboratory functions including procurement, handling, processing, dispatching and testing of specimens, performing procedures and reporting results.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent.


Additional Required Qualifications:

Excellent phlebotomy skills are required.


Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working in a hospital setting. Experience collecting macro and micro blood samples. Proficient computer skills with knowledge of Laboratory Information Systems.
