    Dr. Angelina Loo is searching for a dedicated and lively Dental Assistant to join our established practice in beautiful Vancouver, BC. Dr. Loo is part of the Corus Orthodontists family. We are a group of practices spread across North America, committed to preserving and advancing the field of orthodontics while maintaining the integrity of the patient-doctor relationship.


    About the position:

    The Dental Assistant plays a crucial role in our clinical team, responsible for delivering comprehensive patient care professionally, efficiently, and compassionately. This role involves various patient care tasks such as assisting the doctor during appointments, treating orthodontic patients, sterilization procedures, setting up operatories, taking impressions and x-rays, and occasional minor lab work.

    Main responsibilities:
    • Establish positive relationships with patients, families, and colleagues to ensure treatment stays on track.
    • Educate patients on oral hygiene practices.
    • Maintain detailed records in the management system.
    • Perform various tasks like taking x-rays, photos, impressions, and scans.
    • Provide patient education and reports to parents/guardians.
    • Support Orthodontist during consultations and procedures.
    • Ensure cleanliness and sterilization of equipment and operatories.
    • Prepare trays and assist in bonding procedures.
    • Manage supplies inventory and storage.
    • Flexible to handle additional duties as needed for practice efficiency.

    Requirements:
    • Certification as an Orthodontic Assistant is preferred, with the Orthodontics Module completion, yet open to training for Dental Assistants.
    • Ability to interact with children with special needs.
    • Good knowledge of health and safety regulations.
    • Familiarity with orthodontic/dental software systems is a plus.
    • Excellent communication skills and ability to build strong relationships with patients, colleagues, and the community.
    • Attention to detail and effective time management skills.
