Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team processing domestic and international payroll, benefits and taxes
    accurately and timely, in compliance with federal, multi
  • state, and country
  • specific
    legislations.

Keep up to date with all applicable regulatory reporting requirements and guidelines, and compliance with all internal Policies and Procedures and internal controls.

Partner with the Employee Success department on alignment of roles, responsibilities, and administration in new systems; to review cross-function impacts and reconcile data sharing.

Collaborate with Global Accounting and Equity Administration on settling certain equity transactions including cash settlements and payroll taxes.

  • Refine/build robust controls to
    process/operate and ensure payroll and benefit policies and procedures are followed.
  • Recommend and implement changes leading to
    bestpractice operations.
  • Prepare for
    audit and assist in the completion of internal and external payroll tax and accounting audits
  • Ensure global
    year end filing readiness in a timely manner, YTD earnings, etc.
  • Prepare relevant management
    reports, including weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearend reports (GL, gross payroll, hours worked, vacation accrual, tax deductions, benefit deductions, etc.)

Manage global payroll and benefit
providers to ensure all aspects of the service level agreements are met and appropriate invoicing

  • Maintain knowledge of existing and new payroll related legislations, enforcing adherence to requirements and advising management on needed actions.
  • Oversee, train, coach and support the Payroll and Benefits Team to ensure knowledge transfer and development.
  • Act as backup liaison with employees on payroll inquiries and issue resolution.
  • Maintains confidentiality of sensitive employee data, ensuring all payroll and benefit information are kept in strict confidence.
  • Track and ensure benefit renewals are completed in a timely manner.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance or related experience preferred
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Certified Payroll Manager (CPM) designation
  • 8+ years experience managing a global payroll and benefits department, with minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience
  • Expert working knowledge of Ceridian and ADP products Experience with global payroll solutions, system implementations and integrations
  • Experience with global benefits, vendor management
  • Proficient at MS Office (especially Excel)
  • Thorough knowledge of payroll tax laws and regulatory and financial requirements at the federal, state, provincial and local level
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state and provincial wage and hour laws, as well as payroll and government reporting procedures, including knowledge of garnishment, levy and child support processing.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, time management, written and oral communication skills, including strong customer service skills and strong attention to details.
  • Ability to successfully manage competing priorities
  • Equity stock administration experience considered a strong asset
  • Think outside of the box, open minded and cando attitude
