THE POSITION

  • In support of the Vision, Mission and Values of LutherCare Communities, the Care Division is seeking a high performing individual to join our team as a Manager of Resident Care. If you are an experienced healthcare leader this is your chance to become an integral member and leader of an amazing, committed, and innovative team.

The Manager will work within the organization's Care Division which includes the Luther Special Care Home in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan which has 126 Long Term Care beds (including a specialized dementia unit) along with the operation of 4 adult day programs that are run within the City of Saskatoon including a highly regarded specialized day program for adults with dementia.


Reporting to the Director of Care, the Manager, Resident Care works collaboratively with other Resident Care Managers to provide day-to-day operational direction, leadership, and management of assigned special care home residential neighbourhood(s) and/or assigned adult day programs.

The Manager is responsible for guiding and coaching staff and developing and implementing strategies to deliver services at best possible levels of stakeholder satisfaction and cost effectiveness to ensure high quality, safe and resident/client focused care is achieved.

The incumbent is a member of the management team and as such participates in the overall management of the division.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Eligible for RN/RPN/LPN registration in Saskatchewan, BScN preferred.
  • Experience working in the continuing care sector considered an asset.
  • Superior leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to direct and facilitate change.
  • Excellent administrative and organizational skills
  • Effectively addresses concerns of residents/clients, families, and staff.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Word and Excel as well as adapt to, and leverage the use of, new technology.
  • Effectively demonstrates sound judgment in decision making and problem solving.
  • Successfully demonstrates sensitivity, patience, and concern in providing quality service to residents.
  • Consistently remains calm in an emergency and takes decisive action.
  • Positively adapts to change and seeks out opportunities for quality improvement.
  • Effectively works with residents, committees, contractors, and other departments of LCC.
  • Effective skills in human resource management and supervision
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
