Job Summary


Responsible for the oversight of the project's procurement and opening budget for purchasing, this role is integral to the project management and successful opening of the Nobu Hotel and Restaurant.

With a high level of interaction with vendors, suppliers, and preferred brand partners, the incumbent will manage and facilitate the sourcing, ordering, purchasing and payment, shipping, and delivery of the specified product, customs brokerages, operating equipment, fixtures, furnishings as well as imported food and beverage products.


Essential Functions

  • Manage all aspects of the procurement process, from initial documentation preparation to contract award and negotiation, in accordance with best practices and guides consistent with the brand.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with brand partners, designers, and designated suppliers.
  • Recommends procurement and delivery method based on specific requirements, procurement policy, and best practices.
  • Provides advice and expertise regarding the procurement process and documents to project managers, internal staff, and external consultants.
  • Leads and manages procurement process including facilitating the delivery of the final products into operations.
  • Coordinates meetings/site tours for prospective suppliers.
  • Leads the relationship with brokerage companies for customs and duties purposes.
  • Order and source the best price for goods and supplies
  • Maintains the preopening OS&E budget.
  • Establishes par levels for supplies and equipment
  • Reviews invoices for products and services related to the department; analyzes variances and takes corrective actions
  • Organize and direct worker training programs, resolve personnel problems, hire new staff, and evaluate employee performance in dining and lodging facilities.
  • Monitor budgets and review financial transactions to ensure that expenditures are authorized and budgeted.
  • Keep records required by government agencies regarding sanitation on imports
  • Monitors all purchases of materials and supplies

Qualifications

Education:
High school diploma or certificate required. Two or four-year degree preferred.

Experience:
At least two years experience in purchasing or procurement within a design firm or hospitality venue. Prior experience within a luxury brand is preferred.

Other:
Must be customer-service oriented and have excellent hospitality skills.
