Summary:
If you value ethics, love finding creative solutions, and have a passion for compliance, then this is the job for you The Quality Assurance Specialist under the direction of the QA/RA Manager is primarily responsible for the monitoring and quality control of cannabis production and extraction processes. The role will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with the Cannabis Regulations/SOR and Good Production Practices (GPP).
This position is based out of Kingsville, Ontario.

Job Duties:

Ensure that all standard operating procedures are being strictly followed.
Ensure compliance with Cannabis Regulations/SOR
Investigate and report quality deviations, SCARs, etc.; and implement CAPAs.
Perform Moisture test and sampling to ensure compliance with regulations
Collaborate with other departments to ensure compliance with standard operating procedures.
Perform internal QA audits that are compliant with corporate policies, practices, and procedures.
Adopt and incorporate quality methods into everyday work.
Prepare Quality Control specifications for bulk products, raw materials, components and finished products.
Maintain QA control documentation.
Identify relevant QA training needs and opportunities.
Conduct tests and create reports in compliance with corporate policies, practices, and Conduct risk procedures.
Assist with the maintenance of QA monitoring programs, including audits, controls, and other qualifiers.
Analysis, verification, validation activities, and formal design reviews, as applicable.
Ensure that refuse and cannabis products are managed or destroyed in accordance with Cannabis Regulations/SOR
Complete inspection reports on production equipment, sanitation practices, and production areas.
Train staff on operating procedures and GPP.
Review complaints and follow up with appropriate departments.

Requirements:

5+ years of work experience in a quality assurance role in pharmaceutical, food, or related industry.
University degree in science or related discipline (chemistry, biology, pharmacology).
Previous experience with extraction equipment.
Knowledge of Cannabis Regulations/SOR and other regulatory requirements is anasset.
Experience with an organization regulated by HACCP or experience in a similarly regulatedenvironment (GMP, GAP, GPP).
Attention to detail.
Ability to follow strict operating procedures.
Ability to work individually as well as part of a team.
Ability to adapt to new technology.
Dedication to safety measures and best practices.
Ability to prioritize and manage conflicting demands.
Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
High level of integrity and work ethic.
Fluent in Spanish would be an asset.

Work Conditions:

Repetitive work.
Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
Working in a busy environment with frequent interruptions.
Use of required personal protective equipment.
Weekends and evenings will be required on a rotating basis based on business needs and grow cycle.
