About Us:


The Maintenance Management Office provides leadership and supports the Operations Division in the Management, Performance and Operations of the MTO Highway Maintenance program.

Our office is responsible for the overall management of the Ministry's highway maintenance responsibilities in the continued preservation and operational viability of the Provincial Highway system by establishing policies, standards, and procedures and providing functional direction in the areas of maintenance operations, special maintenance services, and vegetative management.

We continue to work closely with the regional Operations Offices, our stakeholders and Area Maintenance Contractors to provide the travelling public with the safest roads in Ontario.

What can I expect to do in this role?


Reporting to Manager, Maintenance Management Office, you will:

  • Lead and manage the development and implementation of policies, contract documents, processes, procedures and performance requirements necessary for the consistent, efficient and effective delivery, oversight and administration of highway maintenance, operations, contract administration, procurement and related programs.
  • Lead research projects and development of I&IT tools to support the highway maintenance function in effectively delivering its program.
  • Lead, manage and direct the activities of a section, including the effective management of financial and human resources.
  • Represent the ministry regarding matters involving Professional Engineers of Ontario (PEO).
  • Participate with Ministry executives in formulating policy, legislation, strategic plans and program direction to further government/ministry corporate strategies and goals.
  • Manage the section that provides highway maintenance and operations management expertise for the ministry.
How do I qualify?
Mandatory

  • You must be licensed by the Professional Engineers of Ontario (PEO).
  • This position requires timetotime travels across the province. The applicant must have a valid class G driver's license or equivalent as recognized by the Province of Ontario.
Leadership and Management Skills

  • You have strategic leadership and management skills to provide leadership to a diverse, multidisciplined team and oversee and schedule work in accordance with corporate and divisional priorities.
