Tool Room Supervisor

Day Shift

Job Duties

Maintains conformance with Plant Rules, Standards, policies, and regulations; issues warnings for violations and administers approved disciplinary measures.
Responsible for supervising the tool room department on all shifts
Provide guidance and direction to employees in solving and/or answering toolmaking questions, problems and issues.
Direct allin house toolroom associates and outsources in the manufacture of spare and improved tooling components.
Direct continuous improvement programs on all tooling to ensure G.D.&T. compliance on all products.
Take lead role in continual improvement of new tooling build procedures and make adjustments to meet requirements.
Create challenging projects for apprentices and toolmakers to test and improve their skill levels, and to benefit Kobay Enstel Ltd. through reduced outsource costs
Supervise, coordinate and prioritize the projects and workload of the department. Ensure projects are finished correctly and according to time schedules
Participates in training that improves and maintains the company's Health & Safety Standards.
Give direction and training to tool room associates on proper processes
Maintain a high level of communication at all levels.
Hold subordinates accountable for health & safety.
Understands and abides by relevant legislation.
Create a teamoriented atmosphere.

Job Requirements

Valid Ontario Tool & Die License
Minimum of three years experience working in an automotive environment preferable stamping and welding
Strong tooling background (Tool and Die Qualification preferable, Die design).
College degree in a related field in Tool & Die Making
Good Leadership skills
Excellent supervisory skills
Valid Certified CPR & First Aid Training
Knowledge of IATF 16949:2016 policies & procedures.
