The Recreation Sites and Trails branch is a provincial program delivered through a headquarters office, four regions, and 20 districts across the province.

The purpose of the branch is to plan, develop and maintain, a significant, diverse, and valuable network of 1800+ recreation sites and 800+ recreation trails to provide high quality recreational opportunities for the public, including residents and visitors to British Columbia.


Core Branch functions include planning and managing forest recreation sites and trails; stewarding recreation resources on Crown land; developing strategic and operational policies and a regulatory foundation in support of program delivery and program planning and administration.

Under the leadership of the Regional Manager, the Regional Administrative Assistant provides a variety of office administrative and contract support services for regional and district operations.


Job Requirements:


  • Secondary school graduation or equivalent. Preference may be given to applicants with some postsecondary education or formal training in office or business administration, contract administration, basic accounting or related field.

Experience:


  • Experience providing a comprehensive range of administrative and/or financial support in a busy, highvolume public or private sector office setting.
  • Experience drafting or preparing a variety of documentation including database tracking, reports, spreadsheets, budgetary, financial and contractrelated forms and documents.
  • Experience in contract administration, including preparing contract documents, coding, ensuring accuracy of billing, etc.
  • Experience interacting with and providing support to managers and staff, contractors, and other external stakeholders.
