_This is a temporary full-time assignment for approximately Twelve (12) months._


To support us on our journey, Sinai Health System is looking for a
Patient Registration & Admitting Administrator to join the Admitting Department.

The Patient Registration & Admitting Administrator will be responsible to coordinate the day-to-day operations of the Admitting Department employees to ensure the timely, accurate and cost effective provision of services in support of high quality and safe person centered care.

The incumbent will complete scheduling and payroll activities for the Admitting Department and provide administrative support to the Senior Manager and Supervisors of Admitting when required.


Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage and coordinate departmental scheduling and payroll for all Program cost centres ensuring timeliness and accuracy
  • Manage department hiring process by working alongside Recruitment to interview and onboard Admitting and Screening Staff
  • Provide the highest level of customer service to all internal and external Sinai affiliates
  • Ensure staff replacements are completed in a manner that minimizes overtime, adheres to collective agreement requirements, and applicable policies and procedures
  • Ensure the accurate tracking of financial data and key performance/results indicators for Admitting; analyze data and create reports and summaries for the portfolio
  • Participates in continuous quality improvement to and program development initiatives that support departmental goals aligned with the Sinai Health's strategic direction
  • Provides administrative assistance to Project Work scheduling
  • Documents and provides meeting minutes for all department meetings and huddles
  • Assists with the preparation and organization of documentation, newsletters, and reference guides
  • Regulates Sign-In procedures and processing
  • Ensures adequate levels of supplies are available
  • Completes other duties consistent with the position as required


  • Job Requirements

  • Successful completion of related college diploma from an accredited education institution (e.g., Business Administration, Health Administration)
  • Proven equivalent and recent related education, training and experience may be considered
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize competing demands and changing priorities while maintaining high degree of accuracy and customer service
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to facilitate training, team huddles, etc.
  • Sound departmental scheduling knowledge required
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Team based approach to managing the needs of the organization and the patients
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills and understanding of policies and protocols
  • Experience with Ceridian Dayforce
  • Demonstrated satisfactory work performance and attendance history
