Objectives:


The Anti-Human Trafficking Systems Navigator provides short term case management and referral services to urban First Nation, Metis and Inuit individuals who are involved in, or transitioning out of Human Trafficking.


Responsibilities:


The main responsibility of the position it to ensure all aspects of the Anti-Human Trafficking Systems Navigator program are designed, planned, coordinated, delivered, and evaluated effectively, efficiently and in accordance with established performance standards.

Workers will plan and deliver programs through an integrated approach, in a team environment and where appropriate, in partnership with external agencies.

All NFC Program Workers will collaborate to ensure the needs of the NFC are met and that planned NFC social and recreational activities are effectively and efficiently delivered.


Qualifications:


  • Education in relevant postsecondary program (i.e. Social Service)
  • Minimum of 2 years work experience in the community and/or social services or acceptable combination of the above is an asset
  • Strong knowledge and awareness of Indigenous culture and history, with a strong understanding of the impacts of trauma;
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to create and maintain trusting relationships with vulnerable Indigenous women;
  • Experience in building and maintaining positive working relationships with local organizations/institutions to foster collaborative and coordinated approaches to achieving program objectives;
  • Ability to work within the established policies and procedures of the NFC organization with the ability to work independently & as a team player, with mínimal supervision;
  • Must have a valid driver's license, a reliable vehicle & be willing to travel when required;
  • Must possess current First Aid / CPR certification or be willing to be certified;
  • Indigenous heritage a preference; (ref: Aboriginal Employment Preference Policy); and,
  • A satisfactory Criminal Reference Check (CPIC) with a Vulnerable Sector Search (VSS) will be a condition of the employment offer.

Salary:
$ 48,000.00 annually (with a 6-month probation)


Benefits:
Health care spending account, 2 weeks paid vacation, 10 days of paid sick time.


Schedule: 8:30-4:30 Monday to Friday with evenings and weekends as needed
