Position Summary:
- The position will involve all aspects of collaborative research with Professor Levin and members of his laboratory on axon pathophysiology and therapy, particularly with respect to optic nerve disease.
- His/her role will include the use of models of traumatic optic neuropathy (TON) models in rats to assess neuroprotection with novel pharmacological agents.
- The applicant must have expertise with animal handling and surgery, ideally rodents, and an intermediate level of data acquisition and analysis.
Qualifications:
- MSc degree in a biomedical or related field and a minimum of 2 years of research experience.
- Technical skills and abilities relevant to the primary duties.
Other Qualifying Skills & Abilities:
- Strong analytic skills and attention to detail are essential.
- Complete and consistent ethical conduct of research.
- Superior written and communication skills.
- Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve problems effectively and in a timely manner.
- Must be a selfmotivated worker who can work both autonomously and in group settings in a complex, changing, and deadlineoriented environment.
