- Represent and conduct business transactions on SMS Equipment's behalf.
- Follow all policy and procedures laid out by SMS Equipment.
- Study the market situation, set goals and objectives, plan prospecting activities accordingly.
- Prepare daily and weekly report of activities.
- Produce a list of clients detailing names, addresses, and equipment while keeping the list current.
- Determine new as well as existing customers' needs, analyze their equipment, decide and recommend the proper equipment needed to meet their expectations.
- Prepare and write up business proposals and have them approved by the Operations Manager.
- Ensure that the customer receives proper and adequate information on the operation and function of the product purchased.
- Follow up with the customers after the sale.
- Submit lost sales reports immediately after the event occurred.
- Assist the credit department in collecting due amounts.
- Work closely with the product support department regarding sales potential or any other related issue regarding this department or any other department.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word and have a general working knowledge of computer systems.
- Must be self-motivated and proactive in keeping abreast of cutting edge technology and best practise pertaining to the Company's products and services; enhancing expertise, performance and bottom line productivity.
- Proficient communication skills in dealing with customers and O.E.M.s.
- Ability to travel as required.
- Ability to drive company vehicles for extended periods of time.
- Valid Class 5/G Drivers License.

Description
At SMS Equipment, our Equipment Sales Representative is responsible for promoting, selling and renting various product lines distributed by SMS Equipment. The Equipment Sales Representative will develop the full sales potential to increase market share. This position is Timmins, ON.
The base salary for this position is $48,000 plus commission.
The successful candidate will be entitled to a one year commission guarantee of an additional $48,

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years experience in Industrial Sales as well as experience in the heavy equipment business and familiarity with large construction equipment. Additional requirements include:
