    Description

    The CPA Western School of Business (CPAWSB or the School) delivers innovative, competency-based learning education to more than 15,000 learners in Western and Northern Canada who are completing their formal education towards certification as a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) in Canada. CPAWSB delivers the CPA preparatory courses and the CPA Professional Education Program (CPA PEP) through a combination of online distance learning and face-to-face modules that lead to the national Common Final Examination (CFE).     Supervisors are responsible for the integrity and security of exam materials while in their custody and enforcing strict exam processes (CPA Exam Regulations) at CPAWSB exam centres. Exams are held throughout the year (CPA PEP exam schedule and CPA preparatory course exam schedule). Supervisors are contracted for each exam sitting separately.

    Supervisors report to the Exam Contractor Management Team.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Ensuring the requirements set by CPA Canada and CPAWSB are met.
    • Responsible for overall integrity of the exam process, including its confidentiality and safekeeping.
    • Coordinating the on-site exam team
    • Handling all exam materials, including receipt, storage, distribution, collection, and return shipping.
    • Supervisors are for supplying their own:
    • Cell phone, capable of being set to vibrate.
    • Laptop, with the following minimum capabilities:
    • 2 GB of RAM
    • 1 GB of available hard drive space
    • Two available USB ports
    • Windows 10 or higher (32 or 64-bit OS)
    • Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, or Google Chrome
    • Wi-Fi Internet access

    Qualifications

    • Each Supervisor must demonstrate the highest regard for the overall integrity of the exam process, including its confidentiality and safekeeping. Procedures, activities and events must constantly be measured against this overriding requirement.
    • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills and the ability to apply professional judgement.
    • Strong organizational skills
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to work well under pressure.

    TRAINING

    Supervisors will be required to complete training prior to receiving a contract offer.
