STATUS:
TEMPORARY FULL-TIME (APPROX. 12 MONTHS)

***Reporting to the Director, Clinical Integration, the Interim Rehabilitation & District Stroke Manager will oversee the development, management, evaluation and continuous improvement of quality patient care services within the areas of stroke and rehabilitation (Inpatient Rehabilitation). The Manager is accountable to coordinate the day-to-day activities of the Rehab department to facilitate quality care, education, research, human resources management and fiscal management. This position incorporates the role of the District Stroke Coordinator (DSC). The DSC, in conjunction with the Southwest Regional Stroke Centre, provides leadership for the development, implementation and integration of stroke care strategies throughout the district and across all points in the spectrum of stroke care including promotion, primary and secondary prevention, hyperacute/acute care, rehabilitation and community re
- integration and LTC.


QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • Regulated Healthcare Professional, Masters level preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience
  • Minimum 5 years management and/or project management experience in a hospital setting or rehabilitation/community development
  • Experience in rehabilitation and stroke care
  • Experience in capacitybuilding and collaborative partnership development
  • Strong leadership and analytical skills
  • Highly developed interpersonal, presentation and communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage time and resources
  • Ability to collaborate with other regional healthcare partners and build business relationships with senior executives
  • Ability to interact effectively with a variety of people such as physicians, senior management, colleagues and clinical/technical staff
  • Overall commitment to the quality of patient care as well as customer service
  • Ability and willingness to ensure patient safety e.g. "following routine practices and practicing diligent hand washing, reporting adverse events".
  • Available for regular assignment of Hospital Administrator oncall responsibilities (assigned on a rotating basis to cover evenings and weekends)
  • Recent satisfactory performance and attendance records
  • Adherence to GBHS 'CARE' Behaviours (Collaboration, Accountability, Respect, Excellence) and 'LEAD' Competencies (Lead by example, Empower, Achieve results, Develop others) and a commitment to a safe workplace free of violence and harassment
  • Advocates and supports a culture of patient safety and demonstrates an understanding of how the department service and assigned responsibilities contribute to overall patient safety at GBHS through patient safety knowledge, skills and attitudes
  • Valid Ontario Class 'G' driver's license, and access to a reliable and insured vehicle
