Job Description AECOM
is looking for a Geologist
to join its team in Calgary, AB. This is a Full-time **role.


Responsibilities:


  • Work within a team of hydrogeologists, geologists, geochemists, and groundwater modellers on a wide variety of projects.
  • Implement geological, hydrogeological and geochemical investigations including drilling, sampling and logging of soil and rock core.
  • Install monitoring wells, borehole instrumentation, and complete aquifer testing.
  • Implement soil, rock, groundwater and vapour sampling programs.
  • Interpret and report on soil, groundwater and soil vapour data in support of compliance monitoring, contaminant delineation and site closure.
  • Support diverse projects in remediation, mining, solid waste and water supply.
  • Develop workplans, cost estimates in support of ongoing projects.
  • Project Management:
  • Attend weekly project calls, as needed.
  • Support preparation of internal updates to AECOM and Client.
  • Support monthly invoicing by gathering and tracking expense backup from field staff.
  • Support monthly invoicing by tracking field tickets submissions by subcontractors.
  • Preparation of documentation for design projects: technical letters, memorandums, and reports, drawing packages, and detailed design packages.
  • Quality coordination
  • Assistance in maintaining the project schedule for project execution tasks.
  • Support in coordination of planning for all field programs.
  • Ensuring all field data has been uploaded by the Site Supervisor and subcontractors daily.
  • Maintain various trackers as needed.

Qualifications Minimum requirements**:


  • B.Sc. in Geology, Hydrogeology, or related engineering discipline with an emphasis on geosciences.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience
  • A valid class 5 driver's license with no restrictions

Preferred qualifications:


  • Experience planning, implementing and managing subsurface investigations.
  • Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong problemsolving skills, attention to detail, and strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Willingness to complete field investigations, travel, and periodically adjust personal schedules to meet project needs.
  • Eligible to register as a Professional Geoscientist or Engineer with APEGA upon meeting work experience requirements.
  • Experience with software packages such as gINT, AQTESOLV, ArcGIS, Surfer, and Grapher.
  • Working knowledge of relevant provincial, federal, and municipal acts and regulations in Alberta and British Columbia.

Additional Information

  • Sponsorship for Canadian employment authorization is not available for this position.
  • Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position typically is $65,000 $80,000.
